Making a Brigid Cross is a traditional Imbolc ritual that honors the goddess Brigid.

Here is one way to make a Brigid Cross:

Materials needed:

  • 4-6 pieces of dried reed or straw
  • Scissors or a knife

Instructions:

  1. Cut 4-6 pieces of dried reed or straw to the desired length for your cross. They should be about the same length and width.

  2. Take two pieces of reed and lay them on a flat surface, crossing them in the middle to form the shape of a cross.

  3. Take the remaining pieces of reed and place them over the first two, perpendicular to them.

  4. Weave the remaining pieces of reed over and under the first two, creating a crisscross pattern.

  5. Once you have completed the weaving, you can tie the ends of the reeds together with a piece of string or ribbon to secure them in place.

  6. Display your Brigid cross in a place of honor in your home, such as on an altar or in a window where it can be seen.

Note: It's not necessary to use reed, you can use any material of your preference such as yarn, ribbons, etc. You can also decorate it with beads, crystals, or any other embellishment that you think will make it more beautiful.
